Based out of Stockholm, Sweden, 654 Motors specialises in building out old used bikes into cafe racers, scramblers and street trackers of superior quality. They’re also known for their surf shop, which – in case you’re unaware of the climate in Sweden – only serves to support the serious nature of their passions. This Scrambler, the TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE -10 BY 654 MOTORS, in particular, is one of three 6/5/4 decided to build for themselves last year before any wild custom orders began making their way into the shop, and we have to admit we’re a bit jealous this one never made it to market.
The bike at hand is a 2010 Bonneville with surprisingly low mileage considering the age. Co-founder Daniel Jakobsson, with plenty of experience in outfitting off-road motorcycles, decided to suit the Triumph for both on and off-road terrain. He made this possible through a suspension upgrade, stiffer forks, and a new set of shocks courtesy of Progressive Suspension. The Bonneville also now hosts a set of MX-style rims wrapped within a couple Pirelli Scorpion Rally tires. A new 6” headlight and some 6/5/4 branding were also included along with a set of wide handlebars boasting Biltwell Inc. grips, a Motogadget speedometer, and a shortened front fender.
The crew at 6/5/4 also installed smaller turn signals and an LED tail light embedded in the rear of the seat for good measure. All that was left then was the paint job, where they decided, thanks to a girlfriend’s suggestion, that the tank should boast a copper green paint which created a handsome patina to finish off a solid, no-nonsense scrambler the team appears to thoroughly enjoy. Now if they could only replicate it for another interested customer… Us!
